Overview:
Chemicals are now considered as a necessity in our daily life. In particular, we are likely to be exposed to hazardous chemicals, especially at our workplace. Typically, Scheduled wastes are generated from the chemicals, chemicals containers, chemical stains & sub-product/process generated.
Based on the current OSHA 1994 and Environmental Quality Act 1974 and its related-regulations they clearly stated that the employees have the ‘right-to-know’ on chemicals used & scheduled wastes generated, the hazard/risk posed to them, identify the point of use /discharge & how to handle them. Employees are required to interpret the contents of Safety Data Sheet (SDS)– This training will enable the participants on how to further improve on chemical safety, fully understand and knows how to response to daily and emergency situations.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of program, participants will be able to:
- have a better understanding and appreciation towards legal requirements & implications;
- have proper knowledge in safe management of chemicals at workplace;
- understand hazards & risks associated in chemical usage; and
- how to react to a Chemical Spill Emergency Response.
Target Group:
Chemical Handlers, Safety & Health Officer, Safety & Health Committee Members, Department Supervisor, ERT Members & Facilities Members.
